The SP2403 is an advanced AC Drive produced by Control Techniques, a recognized leader in industrial automation solutions. This device offers flexible motor control to meet the demands of various applications, including both normal and heavy-duty operations.
Normal Duty Operations:
Heavy Duty Operations:
Operational Conditions:
The SP2403 is designed to deliver its rated continuous output current for conditions up to 40°C (104°F) and an altitude of 1000m, operating at a 3.0 kHz switching frequency. If these parameters are exceeded, derating is required. For specifics on how to derate, users are advised to consult the Unidrive SP User Guide provided with the drive.
Power Supply & Input Current:
The input current is influenced by the supply voltage and impedance. Notably, the listed input current is typical and assumes a balanced supply condition. The actual current can vary based on these factors.
Mounting & Enclosure:
Unidrive SP drives from size 1 to 6 can be either surface or through-panel mounted with the right brackets. However, size 0 can only be surface-mounted. The drive's enclosure is not a fire enclosure by classification. Therefore, for installations in the USA, a NEMA 12 enclosure is recommended, while outside the USA, specific standards, like IEC 62109-1 for PV inverters, should be followed.
EMC Filters:
The internal EMC filter, integral to the drive, significantly reduces radio-frequency emission into the line power supply. Users are typically advised to leave this filter in place unless certain conditions necessitate its removal.
Supply Types:
The SP2403 is versatile, suitable for a range of supply types, including TN-S, TN-C-S, TT, and IT. The guidelines regarding supply type connection and grounding are elaborated upon in the drive's user guide.
Keypad Operation:
The SP2403 features a user-friendly keypad that facilitates ease of operation. With joypad navigation, mode selection, and dedicated control buttons, users can easily navigate through parameters and control the drive. Additionally, an informative Help button provides quick details on the selected parameter.
RFC Mode & Motor Initialization:
Before powering up, ensure the drive is properly connected and set up. Upon powering up, users should verify the mode displayed. Parameters, such as motor details, speed settings, and acceleration/deceleration rates, should be correctly set for optimized performance.
