The Schneider Electric ATV16U09M2 drive is a Telemecanique product and part of the Altivar 16 AC drive collection accessible for world-wide use. This module accomplishes three-phase asynchronous squirrel-cage motor needs. Intelligent power modules and application-specific integrated circuits are two of the technology points integrated into this drive. It also has a 16-bit microprocessor, a technology that allows for the transfer of 16-bits of data at a time. These products are manufactured in France and are designed for Material handling, packaging, and textile machines usage. They come with a 2-year warranty from MRO Electric. It features standard surface mount technology. Constructed precisely for space-saving with its compact size and with global international standards in mind to help meet the needs of various applications. The Altivar 16 comes with preset settings straight from the factory. These settings administer the necessary transient over-torque for starting. They also maximize available torque at low speeds which requires no adjustment. When torque capacity is reached, amp times will be automatically adjusted for acceleration and deceleration. One beneficial consideration is the reduction of motor noise. The switching frequency is 5 kHz (or 10 kHz for certain applications) which allows for decreased sound irritation. The motor noise is limited by the switching frequency being randomly modulated and that means reducing losses in the drive. To restrict radiofrequency emissions from interfering with or technologies, the use of RFI filters is enforced. Included in the RFI filter kit are output and input filter modules. Inductors are used and allow the drive to run when outfitted with lines with low resistance and lines that get input interference.
The Altivar 16 carries NEMA 1, IP30 protection (IP30 without the top plate mounted) with UL, CSA, IEC, VDE, and CE standards. Maximum relative humidity should be held at 93% non-condensing without dripping. Storage temperature is -13 to +158 °F (-25 to + 70°C). Operation optimal at a maximum altitude of 3300 ft (1000 m) without derating and derating by 3% for each additional 3300 ft (1000 m). It has a reference response time of 5 to 10 minutes.
There are times when inductor use between drive and motor is suggested. Two of these are when there is a long connection between drive and motor and the other is when several motors are running parallel. You have rotation direction command and acceleration and deceleration ramps factory set to 3 seconds, individually adjustable from 0.1 seconds to 600 seconds with option. These ramps automatically adjust in case of over-torque. The low speed is factory set at 0 and the factory high speed setting is50/60 Hz. Constant torque applications work with factory settings. It has automatic slip compensation. The display on the drive consists of 2 LEDs on the front: red LED will indicate there is a fault while a green LED will indicate the drive supply is on.
