The Altivar 11 module ATV11HU18F1A is a variable speed drive unit offered by Schneider Electric has the most familiar operating conditions preset for your convenience. The ATV11 drive comes equipped with local control activated. The RUN and STOP buttons are active. The drive potentiometer, and the LI1 and LI2 are inactive. Also inactive is analog input AI1. This gives you the ability to use the drive without changing the settings as long as the values are compatible with your application. These products are manufactured in France and are designed for Material handling, packaging, and textile machines usage. They come with a 2-year warranty from MRO Electric. We also carry Drives from other manufacturers such as Modicon and ABB.
To mount the Schneider Electric ATV11HU18F1A follow the specifications for your application. Install it vertically, at ± 10°. Make sure it is not placed near heating elements and sufficient enough space is allowed for air to circulate for cooling purposes to both the top and the bottom of the drive. The front of the drive should have a minimum of 10 mm free for ventilation. Mounted in steel or aluminum machine frame with a max ambient temperature of 40°C. Supported by a center frame with a minimum of 10 mm in thickness and minimum square cooling is (S) of 0.12 m2 for steel and 0.009m2 for aluminum and exposed to open air.
You will want to coat the whole support surface of the drive with thermal contact grease. Next, you will want to connect several things to the drive. The following are where you begin: The line supply, making sure it is with the voltage range of the drive and voltage free. Next, the motor, making sure that the connections correspond to the line voltage. The control by way of the logic inputs is next, followed by the speed reference by way of the logic or analog inputs. After you have correctly connected the unit you can then apply input power to the drive. Do not give it a run command until the following are configured:
• The nominal frequency (bFr) of the motor, if it is other than 50 Hz for the E and A ranges or other than 60 Hz for the U range (only appears the first time the drive is switched on). • The ACC (Acceleration) and dEC (Deceleration) parameters. • The LSP (Low speed when the reference is minimum) and HSP (High speed when the reference is maximum) parameters. • The ItH parameter (Motor thermal protection). • The preset speeds SP2-SP3-SP4. Following that, you will configure the Alt menu and then the drC menu and then set the application functions in the FUn menu. When all of this is done, then you may start your drive.
▪ Fault relay, unlocking
When the drive is switched to the ON position, the fault relay is closed. In the event of a fault, it will open. It will also open when the drive is disconnected. How can you unlock the drive after a fault? 1.) It can be done by switching off the drive until the display disappears altogether and then switch it back ON again. 2.) Another way it can be done is to set the “automatic restart” which is done by going into the functions section (Fun menu, Atr = YES). 3.) Lastly, it can be unlocked by way of the logic input. When you input the function to “fault reset” (FUn menu, rSF -LI●).
▪ Drive thermal protection
In the power module, you will find the thermal protection by way of a built-in PTC probe.
▪ Drive ventilation
A fan within the unit is powered on automatically when the unit is turned on for drive ventilation.
▪ Motor thermal protection
